Bread Rolls in Airfryer

bread-rolls-in-airfryer

These days, the most interesting gadget in my kitchen is the 'Air Fryer'!

As the name suggests, an Airfryer uses air to fry your stuff. And this is true! You literally don't need any oil to fry things in the airfryer. But I use some oil, just to brush the things before putting them inside the airfryer basket. Just for  the sake of having the feel of a fried snack!

I have been experimenting a lot with the dishes that can be made in the air fryer and I will share them all with you. Today, it is the simple recipe of bread rolls that just need less than half an hour, provided you have boiled potatoes with you. I simply love the simple bread rolls recipe made in air fryer. Almost no oil and high on taste!

So here's the recipe of bread rolls made in air fryer.

Bread Rolls in Airfryer- the Ingredients you need

  • Bread pieces- 6 (I used brown breads)
  • Boiled potatoes- 2-3 (based upon the size)
  • Black pepper powder- 1/2 - 1 tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Turmeric powder (optional)- 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder- 1/2- 1 tsp
  • Amchur (dry mango) powder (optional)- 1/2 tsp (you can also use freshly squeezed lemon juice)
  • Chopped green chilies (optional)- 1-2
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2-3 tbsp
  • Oil- 1-2 tsp
  • Water- 1/2 bowl

How to make Bread Rolls in Airfryer

  • Mash the boiled potatoes
  • Add all the spices- salt, pepper, red chili powder, turmeric, amchur powder or lemon juice, along with chopped green chilies and coriander leaves.
  • Mix well to make your filling for the bread rolls.

  • Take a bowl and fill it with water till halfway.
  • Dip one of the bread slices in this water and take it out immediately. Do not let t soak in the water for longer. You just need to make it moist.

  • After dipping the bread in the water, place it between both of your palms and squeeze out the excessive water.

  • Take some mashed potato filling and place it on the wet bread slice.

  • Now fold the bread all around the filling and give it a shape of roll. Be gentle while making the bread roll. Be careful not to leave cracks in the rolls. However, because you will not be deep frying the rolls in oil, you need not worry about breaking the rolls while frying. This is another advantage of making bread rolls in airfryer.

  • Make all the six bread rolls like this. Your airfryer basket can hold a maximum of six rolls at a time.

  • Now with the help of a brush or your fingers apply little oil all over the bread rolls. Just brushing oil is enough. This will need only 1-2 tsp of oil

  • Once the bread rolls are ready to be fried in the airfryer, arrange them inside the basket of the airfryer. Brush the basket with oil so that the bread rolls do not stick to it. However, this is not at all essential. Ususally, the bread rolls do not stick to airfryer basket.

  • Push the air fryer basket inside the 'near magical' kitchen gadget to fry it with air.
  • Set the timer of air fryer to 15 minutes (180 degrees).

  • Now do whatever you want. I made tea during my free time to enjoy with the bread rolls.
  • After 15 minutes, your air fryer will automatically stop. Check if your bread rolls are ready. If you don't see the golden brown color on the bread rolls and if they are still somewhat white, fry them for some more time, say, for about 5-8 minutes. There's one more benefit of air fryer. When the bread rolls get completely cooked, the air fryer will stop on its own, no matter what time you have set.
